The Spider Man Costume – Iconic Or Not?

Whether you’re a fan of the classic Spider Man Costume from Sam Raimi’s trilogy or Andrew Garfield’s MCU films, the hero’s iconic look is irresistibly funny. With a cheap ski mask, racing gloves, and jika-tabi shoes with claws on each big toe, Peter Parker’s hero-in-training outfit is an undeniably iconic superhero suit.

In the Sam Raimi trilogy of films, Spider-Man starts out wearing his classic red and blue costume that eventually gets ripped apart from fighting crime in it. This costume is also featured in the video game series, Ultimate Spider-Man where the younger version of the character wears it. In all Marvel fighting video games that feature Spider-Man, this is the first costume you can play as when starting the game with more costumes to unlock. In this version of the suit, there is more webbing and lines around the suit as well as bigger eye pieces.

In the mainstream comics, it’s also common to see the eyes on the mask be drawn with a white outline and black inside. This is a variant of the classic look of the Spider Man costume that has been done through the years by different artists and is often seen in action figures and drawings. Occasionally the blue parts of the suit are drawn dark blue or even black in some versions. However, this is usually only a few details here and there. The majority of the time it’s still seen in the classic red and blue color.
